SUPERNOVA
2010gh IN IC 4523

A. Crain, D. Foster, M. Nysewander, and A. LaCluyze,
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, on behalf
of the CHASE project, report the discovery of an apparent
supernova (mag approximately 16.9) on unfiltered images
taken on July 13.03 and 14.09 UT with the 0.41-m 'PROMPT
1' telescope located at Cerro Tololo. The new object
is located at R.A. = 15h05m13s.46 +/- 0".1, Decl. =
-43°30'59".6 +/- 0".1 (equinox 2000.0), which is about
31".9 east and 25".8 south of the center of the galaxy
IC 4523. Nothing is visible at this position on archival
images taken on June 28.07 (limiting mag 18.0) and June
1.14 (limiting mag 18.5).
