G. Pignata, J. Maza, M. Hamuy, R. Antezana, L. Gonzalez, P. Gonzalez, P. Lopez, S. Silva, G. Folatelli, D. Iturra, R. Cartier, F. Forster, Sebastian Marchi, Universidad de Chile; B. Conuel, Wesleyan University; and D. Reichart, K. Ivarsen, A. Crain, D. Foster, M. Nysewander, A. LaCluyze University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on behalf of the CHASE project report the discovery of an apparent Supernova in IC 4441 (mag approximately 16.5 +/- 0.2) on a unfiltered image taken on Jan. 5.32 UT with the 0.41-m 'PROMPT 4' telescope located at CTIO. In the image the candidate SN is located at R.A. = 14h31m38s.34 +/- 0".1, Decl. = -43
°25'2".8 +/- 0".1 (equinox 2000), which is about 3".1 west 3".1 north of center of the galaxy. The SN candidate is also present in an image taken on Jan. 7.25 (mag approximately 16.5 +/- 0.2). Nothing is visible at the candidate location on archival images taken on 2008 Jul. 28.15 (limiting mag 18.0) and 2008 Jun. 23.03 (limiting mag 18.5).
