the 0.41-m 'PROMPT 4' telescope located at Cerro Tololo. The
new object, which is also present in an image taken on June
7.27 at mag approximately 16.1 +/- 0.2, is located at R.A. =
20h32m18s.50 +/- 0".1, Decl. = -19°43'59".6 +/- 0".1
(equinox 2000), which is about 4".8 west and 0".6
south of the center of the galaxy ESO 597-6. Nothing is visible
at this position on archival images taken on May 21.25 and June
2.19 (limiting mag 18.5).
