LaCluyze, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, on behalf of the CHASE project, report the discovery of an apparent supernova in MCG -01-13-033 on a unfiltered image taken on Aug. 5 with the 0.41-m "PROMPT 5" telescope at the Cerro Tololo Interamerican Observatory. The candidate supernova is located at R.A. = 4h53m18s.03 +/- 0".1, Decl. = -03°00'59".6 +/- 0".1 (equinox J2000.0), which is about 9".6 east and 23".2 south of center of the galaxy. Approximate magnitudes are Aug. 5.38 UT, 14.8 +/- 0.2; 10.34, 14.9 +/- 0.2. Nothing is visible at the location on archival images taken on Feb. 4.11 (limiting mag 18.0) and Jan. 16.14 (limiting mag 18.0).
