Areas of Interest

Mi principal área de interés es la variabilidad de los núcleos activos de galaxias y sus agujeros negros de (masa intermedia) que podrían ser semillas de agujeros negros supermasivos (SMBH) en el universo local.

Areas of Interest

My main interest is the formation and evolution of galaxies. My research focuses on the study of distant galaxies, the formation of which occurred within the first 2 billion years (z> 3) of the history of the universe. My objective is to characterize some of the observable properties of these galaxies such as their luminosity at different wavelengths, the star formation rate, and the effects of dust, in order to understand the processes that produced the local universe that we observe today.

One of my greatest interests in Astronomy is understanding the early processes that led to the Universe we observe today. Currently I'm working on the Search of Intermediate Mass Black Holes; finding and characterizing them would provide a valuable clue to accept or discard some of the theories sustained of the origins of Supermassive Black Holes.

I’m interested on characterization of exoplanetary atmospheres, since it give us information about planet composition, formation and places our Solar System, with Earth included, in a cosmic context.

My greatest interest in astronomy is the search for life and the understanding of it. I have been involved in projects related to Protoplanetary Disks and Exoplanets. I have classified M-type stars in order to understand their characteristics, as they are the most abundant in the milky way. I have also studied the dust and gas in disks to understand their distribution and therefore, the environment where planets are formed. Soon I will be working on the study of exoplanet spectra to differentiate between formation processes and types.

I intend to work on planetary systems, analyzing the mechanisms that are needed for their formation and the considerations that must be accounted for in the process of detecting them. For this I have been previously studying the Stellar activity of various systems and how a good understanding of the activity can help improve the process of detecting exoplanets. Now I will be working with ALMA observations, studying the mechanisms involved in the formation and evolution of protoplanetary disks.
